What is Dropline?
Dropline is a structured writing method supported by a focused digital workspace. It is designed to help writers move from an early idea towards a complete draft through six deliberate stages.
Who is Dropline for?
Dropline is being designed for fiction, non-fiction and academic writers. The public pages explain how it can support each kind of project without revealing the detailed working method.
Does the public website teach the complete Method?
No. The public website explains the purpose, shape and benefits of Dropline. Detailed guidance, exercises, examples and working instructions will be available only after signing up to use the Method.
Is Dropline a subscription?
No. Dropline will have a single lifetime price. There will be no subscription and no automatic recurring charge.
How will the free trial work?
The 14-day free trial will begin only when a signed-in user actively starts the Dropline Method. Simply reading this marketing website will not start a trial, and no payment card will be required to begin it.
How much will lifetime access cost?
After the 14-day free trial, lifetime access will cost $59.99 USD as a one-time payment. Applicable taxes may be added where required.
What happens when the trial ends?
Editing and protected guidance will require lifetime access. Existing project files will remain the user’s property, with read and export access retained so personal writing is not trapped behind payment.
Where will my project files be stored?
Projects will be stored in .dropline files controlled by the user. Dropline will not provide an online manuscript library or place writing on Dropline servers.
Will Dropline store my writing in the browser?
No. User writing, project titles and filenames will not be placed in browser storage. The future Method will work with files that the user chooses and controls.
Which browsers will be supported?
The Method is planned for current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile. No major browser will be excluded, although the exact saving experience will reflect each browser’s capabilities.
How will I move a project between devices?
The same portable .dropline file will be usable across supported browsers and the planned Apple applications. Users will decide how and where those files are transferred or backed up.
Will there be an Apple application?
A macOS application is planned, followed later by iPhone and iPad applications. They will share the same project format and recognise eligible lifetime access through a Dropline account.
Will an internet connection be required?
The marketing website requires a connection. The web Method will need a connection for access checks, while project content will remain local. The later Apple applications are intended to support offline writing after access has been confirmed.
How can I get help?
Public help will be available through the Support page. Detailed Method and tool guidance will be provided inside the signed-in experience when it launches.
